I saw one of those little smart cars make a daring u-turn on FUllerton Ave last night. I wasn't going to say anything (to myself) until I saw the license plate: PALEST 9

I thought that was pretty cheesy and it prompted me to shout out to the little car (again, in my head) "What, you think you can just park that thing anywhere you want?" Which sounded inappropriate, which is OK.

Well they finally lost. And in the 4th quarter, which worries me. 4th quarters is where there's a problem.

Obesity video
We've all seen all the reports on the news about the growing obesity epidemic, but what's the deal with the footage they run as they sput their statistics? All these fat people walking around the streets of whatever city they're in. They don't show their faces but that's not cool, can't they show a pie graph or something showing how fat Americans are getting instead? Sometimes they even show people eating hot dogs or fast food. Not cool. Imagine being one of those people and you see your body on TV as they talk about how fat the country is. To see your jiggling handles resisisting against the tensed fabric of your size 46 jeans - cellulite in all its glory. Like I said, not cool - for anyone.

This looks pretty cool, and at the same time airlines are going bankrupt here in the states. Who can make sense of it?

Ok.

So I just watched it. Literally, I just walked out of the theater. I heard people crying and it hadn't even ended yet. I cried (seems like I'm a real pussy this week).

What a great movie. This was one of the most pure movies I've ever seen. Ever. Pure. That's the word. The acting, the dialogue, the story, the performances. It was all so fantastic.

This is what we all really strive for. This is why I love movies (I mean films) and reading. It's all about reminding ourselves of our humanity. About what we are capable of. About the emotions we are capable of. This is what it's all about. Don't we all want this at some level? This is what we should all be striving for. This is why I write. This is what I want to make other people feel. I want someone to come away reminded of their humanity. To cry.

I'm too hyped up right now to be objective. But fuck objective. More on this tomorrow.

Run with the Bulls
The Bulls did it again! 88-86 and today I actually got to see the whole game. That's 7 in a row and this game was special because the Bulls really never settled into a groove. They never got it going. Hinrich didn't score any points the whole first half and the Knicks are just an unbelievable shooting team. I tell you, they just don't miss their shots. Jason was right about Alan Houston, he's a lethal shooter. And as for Ben Gordon, he is the OFFICIAL 4th quarter go-to guy for the Bulls. He scored the gamewinner at the buzzer today. So the Bulls play like crap and pull out another victory. Good stuff. And yes I'm sure, Nocioni is my favorite player. He plays with guts and goes after the ball with balls. Luol Deng had a great game too, he scored 19 points (he's 19 years old) and he plays cool and under control. One more game and we're over .500. Oh yeah.
